I remember when this played on TV clear as day 35 years later. I had heard of the band but had not actually heard them. This song triggered one of the greatest love affairs of my life. I still recall the thrill of "Rock me Joey" at 1:41 then that gorgeous interplay of the twin guitars after the short solo, then being mesmerized at 2:07 when he is holding the chord shapes and he doesn't strum but you can still hear the faint chord ringing...still so amazing all these years later.

These songs carry us through the things that we were going through and they fit with it. And they were inspiring and this is from a black kid that grew up on upper. LF side of New York City, it's either. Didn't have rock arrows in you. Hey, white privilege is what they passing onto us. And rocket roll is part of it.

Wiki states that "Cole said her 1996 song "Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?" was intended as a commentary on gender stereotypes, but the feminist message was misinterpreted by many listeners who did not realize the song was intended to be satirical" I'm not buying it. Sounds like a revisionist take on it after she probably got some heat over its obvious real meaning from the uber-feminist types.
